The Fae's Pact
The Fae where dying.
Slowly, but surely, the War of the Old Ones had exterminated them. With only a handful of their populace remaining, they turned to their closes neighbors, the Elves, for shelter, running from their burned and destroyed home, where the Undead, leaderless after the War, had sacked and destroyed everything they could.
Turning to the only people they could, the Fae sought shelter within the Elvin Lands, where Queen Whirin and her king, Halar, ruled with justice and peace.
The Fae explained what happened during the war, and the events afterward. Using her knowledge from her time as a dragon, Whirin proposed a pact; a pact that would fuse the elves and the Fae together, causing select few of their women, touched by the magic of the Fae, to carry the Fae's blood.
The Fae, believing halfbreeds an abomination, refused. They left the lands of the Elves, and journeyed to the deep forests of Kaladun, where they tried to make a home for themselves.
However, a decade later, only three of their once mighty race remained. fearing extinction, they met a young elvin girl by their forest, and gave her their power of a Fae.
Within moments, she sprouted the wings reminiscent of every Fae, every creature of magic that had been lost in the war; she realized the gift she had been blessed with. The Fae, their magic expended on this last act, placed themselves within trees in the center of Kaladun Forest to sleep for eternity.
